i hope my words are strange and wondrous,

like kisses that quiet all things superfluous,

so that we can all stop and

listen

as a literary geek, i love the classic metaphors simply because they're hella right.

but of course, one can't quite explain how right they are until one feels them too.

firstly,

the wind really does scream.

it howls like a banshee with its hair on fire.

secondly,

your stomach can really sink,

there are such things as butterflies in your tummy.

thirdly,

it is possible to see yourself in someone else,

and want to cry.

and that is a lifechanging moment.

i happened to witness all three things in the last 48 hours,

and gladly become of the race that lives literature.

these were my experiences.
